Question answer
Questions and answers to them
In the process of preparing and conducting construction, the developer has many questions related to this. We will try to find answers to the most common of them in this question and answer section.
Ordinary brick is used in various areas of construction, internal masonry of partitions, backfilling of load-bearing walls, capital construction from scratch, foundation arrangement, building basement and much more. The parameters of an ordinary brick are very different from facing bricks. An ordinary brick, first of all, has a difference in appearance, it has a less presentable appearance. The geometry of such a brick leaves much to be desired. Technical parameters such as moisture resistance, frost resistance, brand strength and much more differ greatly from the cladding not in favor of rowing. But it should be noted that one cannot do without an ordinary brick at a construction site. Another difference is the cost, facing materials are of course more expensive than ordinary bricks. Therefore, do not forget to separate the materials for their intended purpose and monitor the correctness of their use.
Facing brick Lithos is made from ecological and clean raw materials – it is a shell-limestone with a moisture content of approximately 12%. The fraction is no more than 5-6 mm. Applied brand of cement is not less than 500, white cement of the same grade, high-quality dyes.
In such a question, it is important to understand what you want to get from the purchased material, price, quality, performance, technical parameters? The bulk of small, one might say handicraft producers do not worry about the modernization of production, the improvement of technology, and much more. They prioritize income, produce and sell products as quickly as possible, without caring at all about compliance with production technology and quality control. Accordingly, by purchasing such no name products, the consumer runs the risk of paying twice. Well-known trademarks value their reputation and accordingly monitor the quality of the goods and other important parameters of the products. In addition, there are manufacturers who produce their products under an already well-known brand, and the Litos trademark is no exception. The buyer should be vigilant and check the goods before purchasing. Often, a simple visual inspection already allows you to draw conclusions about the quality of products.
The Litos plant produces the following sizes of brick products:
- The standard brick has a size of 250 length * 120 width * 65 height
- The narrow brick has a size of 250 length * 50/60 width * 65 height
- Thin brick (actually tiles) 250 length * 12/18/20 width * 65/100 height These are the main dimensions of Litos products
The facing brick of the Litos Factory is represented by the following textures:
- Smooth texture, presented both in classic bricks and in new products
- “Chipped” texture, has an even chip, a bit reminiscent of the surface of a savage stone without processing
- Texture “rock” repeats the relief of wild / natural stone with a convex chip Such a brick is produced using mechanical processing of bricks and preliminary preparation. Other names for such bricks are “Finnish”, “torn”, “marble”, “granite” and much more.
Textured bricks are subjected to additional mechanical processing. Different manufacturers of similar products use different names, among them “torn”, this name is applied to a brick, “rock”, which has a convex chip imitating wild stone. The “chipped” texture has a more even chip, remotely similar to raw granite and marble. Thus, the “rock” has a convex chip, and the “chipped” texture has an even chip.
There are differences between hollow and solid types of bricks. First of all, this is the obvious presence of voids in the body of a brick or their absence. Both types of bricks have their advantages and disadvantages. Hollow brick is lighter in weight, brick laying is faster and easier, Additional adhesion between rows of bricks due to additional mortar getting into the voids, slight additional insulation of the building due to voids in the brick, cheaper delivery of bricks to the construction site and others. A solid brick has a higher strength, frost resistance, lower moisture absorption, a specific application where it is impossible or undesirable to use a hollow brick.
The traditional Lithos brick currently has the main colors: yellow, ivory, gray, brown (chocolate), red. The new production of Lithos has names that are not related to color, but have various names, including the names of cities. You can see the new products of Litos here.
Ivory color has a brighter saturated color due to the use of high-quality white cement in the production of such brick products, yellow brick is produced using high-quality traditional cement. In this regard, there is a main difference between these colors.
The initial debate is which is better Coca Cola or Pepsi Cola? There are many products that are similar in properties, appearance and qualities. It is often difficult for the buyer to make his choice. Our company is the official representative of the Litos brand, and on this site we acquaint visitors and future customers in detail with the advantages and features of the Litos plant products. Trademark Fagot is the very first manufacturer of such products in Ukraine. The Litos plant today is not inferior to its closest competitors in terms of production volume, product quality, and range of manufactured goods. In addition, the Litos plant is constantly improving production technology, increasing the range of goods, and improving the quality of already manufactured products.
The name “tychkovoy” is applied to the textured types of Litos bricks “rock”, “chipped”. Brick “poke” is used when laying poke, for example, the corners of buildings, where the same texture is needed as that of the main surface of the brick. Bonded bricks have a very wide range of applications. They are used in the construction of fence columns, the construction of many architectural elements, the construction of semi-columns of buildings, pilasters, bay windows and much more.
Salt spots on the front surface of a brick are often called “efflorescence”. Thus, efflorescences are salts that have come out and crystallized on the front surface of a brick or cladding. Crystallization occurs through the migration of a water-salt solution in the pores of materials with the further appearance of “efflorescence” on the surface. Efflorescence appears after the moisture has evaporated and only salt remains. How to avoid this trouble:
- When preparing solutions, do not use components that may contain slags and other salt-forming components.
- Use cement in the preparation of the mortar only of the PC grade, do not use the ShPTs.
- Do not stain the front surface of the brick with mortar.
- Use a moderately thick mortar when laying the cladding, it should not “float” along the masonry.
- Do not carry out masonry work during bad weather (rain, snow). Try to get the building under the roof as soon as possible.
- Use wired water-repellent masonry compounds.
The answer to this question is very simple. Bricks of different colors vary in price due to the use of different dyes in different quantities in the production of bricks. Also, some types of Litos brick products are made using white, more expensive cement.
Basically, Litos brick products are packed on a wooden pallet measuring 1m * 0.75m. Thin types of bricks are packed from the beginning into small blocks using shrink film, and then stacked on a pallet. Products folded on a pallet are interleaved with cardboard, which eliminates damage to the front surface of the brick during transportation. Then the folded brick is pulled together with polypropylene tapes to give additional rigidity during transportation. At the end, they wrap the finished pallet with products, stretch film, apply company symbols and markings (packing list).
